International debit cards VISA Electron and Maestro can be used for purchases or cash withdrawals at ATMs. These cards are accepted for payments at over 20 million locations and there are more than 700 000 ATMs where you can withdraw the cash.

ready to provide your password. Also you can order monthly
statements by mail or set up Internet banking system.
What if I lose my card?
Phone Parex banka immediately. Use the following phone numbers: +371 701-00-00 (24 hour service). If you can’t contact the bank, call the 24 hour BankService hot-line at +371 709-25-55 and describe the situation and provide your card’s number.

Credit Card Where can I use the credit cards?
International credit cards Visa and MasterCard can be used for purchases as well
as cash withdrawals in ATMs. MasterCard is accepted for payments at over 21 million
locations and there are more than 780,000 ATMs where you can withdraw the cash.
Visa card is accepted at more than 21 million locations and 645 000 cash dispensers,
in 300 countries and territories. Credit cards can also be used for hotel reservations,
car rental and Internet purchases.

Are there any special benefits?
Yes. There is special travel insurance program for Business and Gold credit card
cardholders. Also a car rental discount is available at Hertz (client discount

Are credit cards safe?
Remember, for your protection you should always:
- sign and activate a new credit card immediately;
- save your credit card sales slip to check against your monthly statements;
- see that you get your card back after every purchase or cash withdrawal and carry it in the same secure place;
- tear up the sales slips if and when you throw them away;
- check your billing statement for accuracy each month.

Virtual Cards What is a virtual card?
The virtual cards issued by Parex bank for Internet shopping ensuring
high security standards. The virtual card number is separated within a special
card group eliminating the fraud risk for your everyday-use card account where
the major portion of your funds are located.
What are the major features of this card?
This card really is virtual — no plastic. The credit card details
are available through the Internet banking system. This card can be used for
buying goods and services in Internet shops and catalogs.
Where can I shop online?
You can shop online at most merchants who accept MasterCard® or Visa® (depending on the brand you choose). It can’t be used at traditional “bricks and mortar” merchants or for withdrawing the cash at ATMs.
What about fraud and theft?
Your card is essentially the same as cash, so you should treat it that way. Keep
on your card account only the funds you are planning to spend shortly. Guard
your virtual card information associated with your card. If you lost your number
or believe it’s been stolen you should contact Parex banka at +371 701-00-00
immediately.
How does it work when I need to return merchandise?
You will of course return it to the online merchant who you bought it from. The merchant should credit the amount of your return to your card account.
Is my card redeemable for cash?
You can withdraw the cash from you virtual card account when visiting the Parex banka branches in Latvia.
